- Referential meaning: Scientists develop a means of bringing dinosaurs to life using DNA taken from dino blood, which has been preserved inside insects encased in amber. While Hammond is showing off his dinosaur “theme park” to a selected audience [a lawyer (Gerrano), mathematician (Malcolm), dino expert (Grant), paleobotanist (Sattler) and his grandchildren (Tim and Lex)], Nedry (computer expert) disables the security system so that he can make his escape with some stolen embryos. This enables all of the dinosaurs to escape their enclosures.
- Explicit meaning: In the beginning the researchers believe that they can peacefully watch the dinosaurs safely, but they are quick to realize that humans and dinosaurs are not compatible.
- Implicit meaning: Alan is dealing with pressure from his wife to have kids even though he doesn’t like children. But as he fights to escape death and keep the 2 children with him safe he grows fond of them and at the end its implied that they will have kids.
- Symptomatic meaning: There is a reason Dinosaurs went extinct before humans were a thing, its to dangerous to put two reckless species in the same environment which is something all the characters were aware of by the end of the movie.
